Fontaine Bleu / Hite's Station

This is the site of the famous boiling blue spring. This cabin/station was located on land occupied by Isaac Hite, but was later assigned to Peter Casey.

While tending their corn crop on this site, James Harrod's surveyors - John Cowan and James Hamilton - were killed by Indians. This incident caused Harrod and Company to leave Kentucky and join the Virginia troops fighting Lord Dunmore's War.
